Coed Varsity Track · Boys Track Wins First State Championship, Girls Finish 3rd

The CCHS Boys Track Team lead the field from start to finish in a dominating performance at the 5A State Championships, bringing home the boys’ first state title in school history. The boys were well represented across the board, scoring points in sprints, relays, mid-distance, distance, and field events.  Here is a list of all the Chargers that earned points towards the team total of 81, 12 points ahead of runner up Springville.  Leading the charge were Van Fillinger, champion of the shot put, and Mark Boyle, who scored in three individual events.

Harrison Taggart – 6th place 200 meters

Alex Harbertson – 4th place 800 meters, 5th place 1600 meters

Mark Boyle – 5th place 800 meters, 3rd place 1600 meters, 4th place 3200 meters

Jake Orr – 6th place 800 meters

Caleb Johnson – 7th place 1600 meters, 5th place 3200 meters

4 x 100 Relay – 2nd place (Cody Hagen, Cole Hagen, Noah Kjar, Harrison Taggart)

4 x 400 Relay – 2nd place (Harrison Taggart, Jake Orr, Noah Kjar, Alex Harbertson)

Sprint Medley Relay – 2nd place (Cody Hagen, Cole Hagen, Noah Kjar, Calen Johnson)

Rafael Erickson – 3rd place high jump

Van Fillinger – 1st place shot put

Jonah Strong – 4th place shot put

The Girls Team also had a great showing, finishing in 3rd place.  Emma Bagley was the state champion in the 100 hurdles and the 4 x 100 team of Aly Milford, Kayla Milford, Paje Rasmussen and Emma Bagley defended their state title. Here is a list of girls that contributed to the team total of 47.5 points.

Allison Oler – 6th place high jump

Karen Crapo – 6th place long jump

Ceyda Ural – 2nd place pole vault
