The Corner Canyon swim team has opened the 2018-19 season with a solid win at Park City and great showing at the Thanksgiving Invite. Out of 26 teams at the invite, the Girls team placed 4th and the boys 11th. Rivers Johnson and McKay Larsen were high point winners for their grades. Rivers placed 2nd in both the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke, while McKay placed 1st in the 200 Individual Medley and 2nd in the 100 breaststroke. Other swimmers that made the podium include Eliza Balfe in the 50 Free and 100 Free, Aliza Smith in the 100 Free and 100 Back, and the 200 Medley Relay team of Aliza Smith, Britta Catmull, Rivers Johnson, and Eliza Balfe. Currenly, McKay Larsen has the top time in 5A in the 200 IM.
The Swim team will be back in action at Skyline on Nov. 27. Their first home meet will be on Nov. 28 vs West. The Chargers home meets are at Dimple Dell Recreation Center.
